Oceanus’ ex-villain, ex-boyfriend, Set. Mystic isn’t the only one hiding something. Nothing about Jeff is balanced. Temper flares result in scorched clothing or flying furniture, and his charm has become an indiscriminate people-magnet. Three Times A Charm with Krystalyn Drown

Welcome to Three Times A Charm. Introducing readers to new authors, illustrators, bloggers, agents, editors or promoters from the children’s publishing industry makes me happy. Today’s guest is author, Krystalyn Drown. Thanks for joining us, Kriystalyn. Please tell us a little about you. I spent thirteen years working at Walt Disney World in a variety of roles: entertainer, talent coordinator, and character captain. My degree in theatre as well as many, many hours spent in a dance studio, helped with my job there. My various other day jobs have included working in zoology at Sea World, as an elementary teacher, and currently as a support technician for a website. In the evenings, I do mad writing challenges with my sister, who is also an author. I live near Orlando, Florida with my husband, son, a were cat, and a Yorkie with a Napoleon complex. What a fascinating background. That must feed well into writing fiction. Speaking of, we’d love to hear about your book.

Welcome to Three Times A Charm. I love introducing my readers to new authors, illustrators, bloggers, agents, editors or promoters from the children’s publishing industry. Today’s guest is author, Theresa Kay. Thanks for joining us, Theresa. Please tell us a little about you. When I was a kid, I was a bit of an oddball. I preferred books to television, was never really up to date on the latest music, and I liked hanging out in my room with whatever cast of fictional characters inhabited the book I was currently reading. This early love for reading also created an early love for writing. I penned my first story at age seven or eight and I wrote through most of my school age years. Then, for a while, life got in the way and I put aside my hopes of becoming a writer. It wasn’t until 2010 when I got my first Kindle and started reading indie books that I started thinking that maybe my dream was still possible. After a few NaNoWriMo challenges (50k words in 30 days), I finally

Welcome to Three Times A Charm. I love introducing my readers to new authors, illustrators, bloggers, agents, editors or promoters from the children’s publishing industry. Today’s guest is author, Marva Dasef. Thanks for joining us, Marva. Please tell us a little about you. Thank you, Kai, for giving me a little of your valuable web space. It’s appreciated. I’m a retired tech writer now making my way in fiction. Primarily I write fantasy books for kids from ten to 100. When I first began my authorial career, I wrote lots of short stories, and have had more than 40 stories published in various on-line and print magazines. In 2007, I decided to try for a longer book via NaNoWriMo. I got my 50K words (many of them to be tossed out). That gave me the confidence to write longer works. Most of my books are in novella length (35K-50K) because that’s the right length for younger readers (and the length I prefer on my ereader). Since my first published book (actually a collection

I haven't produced a lot of new material this month, but I was busy publishing a novella , so I'm not too concerned about my lack of production. The publishing side of things is so very different from the creative side. Since it was my first indie title, I had a learning curve to work through. Obviously, nothing insurmountable. My husband is fond of the saying, "If it was easy, everybody would be doing it." Well, it seems like everybody is self-publishing, so I knew it had to be (if not easy) doable. Tomorrow will be a week since I released the book. Don't miss the last week of my mini blog tour or your chance to win fun stuff. I'm working on edits for the second no

The Only Boy by Jordan Locke-Book Blast Giveaway

Image
The Only Boy by Jordan Locke Mary is stuck in Section One, living with three hundred women in a crumbling hospital. She wonders what life was like two centuries ago, before the Cleansing wiped out all the men. But the rules—the Matriarch's senseless rules—prevent her from exploring the vacant city to find out. Taylor's got a dangerous secret: he's a boy. His compound's been destroyed, and he's been relocated to Section One. Living under the Matriarch means giving up possessions, eating canned food and avoiding all physical contact. Baggy clothes hide his flat chest and skinny legs, but if anyone discovers what lies beneath, he'll be exiled. Maybe even executed. Mary's never seen a boy—the Matriarch cut the pictures of men from the textbooks—and she doesn't suspect Taylor's secret. If she knew, she might understand the need to stop the girls from teasing him. If she knew, she might realize why she breaks the rules, just to be near him. Then a
