Today’s guest is author, Laura Hesse. Welcome to Strands of Thought, Laura. Tell us a little about you, please. For ten years, I worked as a Timber Cruiser and Firefighter in northern Alberta and Ontario; in fact, I was one of the first of two women to be hired to serve on a Helitack crew by the Alberta Forest Service back in 1982. That was where I started writing. In the evening, you can only stare into a fire for so long. I loved my old Underwood typewriter. In life, all things change. Eventually an outhouse became a luxury item, and I knew it was time to quit! After that, I worked in real estate as an unlicensed real estate assistant and a fully licensed Realtor for twenty years, but it didn’t impassion me the way that writing did.
