911! Reader Input Needed!

I'm trying out a new look. What do you think?

I need to simplify my writing world. Even though I love my current website: www.kaistrand.com, I'm thinking about letting it go and point my domains here. So, dear readers, before I make such a dramatic change, does this site fill your needs? If you were to need to look up something - anything - about Kai Strand or LA Dragoni, would this site fill those needs? What is it missing that you generally need/want out of an author website?

I need to make a final decision soon, so the more input I get right away, the better.

  1. I think if you need to simplify, then simplify. A list of your books, a blog with updates and thoughts, and a way to contact you covers why I go to an author's site. This site covers those, so it works for me :)

  2. It's definitely works, though I agree not as pretty as your current site. But if you're looking to cut back, then I think this is an okay spot to do it. The only other thing you might want are author bio and pics in addition to the book and contact tabs.

    1. Yes, I know. I do love my current site. Maybe I'll become wildly popular one day and will be able to do it again. So, I take it you didn't find the little slider on the right side of the page that has the bio buttons. They aren't my favorite anyway, because they are sort of hard to navigate. I'll probs add tabs. Don't know that I'll add a picture though ;) Thanks, Katie!

  3. I think it looks good. I did not see the slider on the right side either. Maybe that could be more available. And, why would you not have a picture? People want to see you. Yes, they do. (My opinion.) Book covers make a site attractive, so readers might be interested in buying the book. My thoughts. You'll make it look good. I know.

    1. I went ahead and added an author bios page to the top since the side bar slide isn't as obvious as I'd like. And I put a picture on the page. Because, you're right - I like to see what an author looks like, so my readers might feel the same. I have all of the book covers on the book pages and I might see about adding a landing page, if I can figure that out, that has a 'latest' release thing or book promotion or spotlight or something. But I won't do that today. Lol. Thanks for sharing your thoughts, Beverly!
