July #InkRipples #Giveaway – Patriotism

I’ve always considered myself a patriotic person. I love my country. Naturally, American patriotism makes me think of Independence Day and I.D. makes me think of fireworks. Oh my gosh, I love fireworks. To me sitting under a summer sky filled with the pop and burst of fireworks is one of the most romantic scenes I can imagine. Seriously, if my husband would just figure this out, he could totally exploit it.

For this month’s #Inkripples giveaway, we are going visual! I want you to post a picture or pictures representing your patriotism. It can be of your country’s flag or mascot, your military or a famous Olympian. Post the picture on Instagram, Pinterest, Facebook or Twitter. Wherever you post, be sure you:

1) follow me
2) tag me
3) use #inkripples
4) fill out the rafflecopter to claim your entry/ies. Not too difficult.

Post your picture(s) and claim your entry via rafflecopter before 11:59 pm on July 26th. One randomly chosen entry will win a $5.00 Amazon gift card. I will notify the winner via email the week of July 27th. Be sure to visit  Mary Waibel, and Katie L. Carroll's Ripples in the Inkwell posts. And do a search on the hastag #inkripples to see who else has joined us this month.

Ripples in the Inkwell is a themed meme hosted by Mary Waibel, Katie L. Carroll, and Kai Strand posting on the second Monday of every month. To participate compose your own post regarding the theme of the month, and link back to the three host blogs. Feel free to post whenever you want during the month, but be sure to include #inkripples when you promote so readers can find you. The idea is that we toss a word or idea into the inkwell and each post is a new ripple. There is no wrong interpretation. Themes and images and more information can be found here.

  1. Oh, I love fireworks too. Sadly, we didn't go to our local display this year (we were busy talking and playing Killer Bunnies with friends). Can't say I didn't miss the crowd, but hearing the fireworks go off at our house, I did miss the colorful display they were putting on!

    1. We watch from our house. Can't hear them though, which is sad for me, but I don't miss the crowds either ;)

  2. Yes, fireworks are the best! Sadly my kiddos are still a bit afraid of the big ones and go to bed way too early to catch the shows. We did set off a bunch of little ones at my parents house on the 4th this year.

    1. I remember when my kids were little enough to be concerned about the fireworks. Dang the years fly by!

    1. I lost my dog 13 years ago, but when the bottle rockets went off in the neighborhood, I still looked for him to comfort him. Sigh. Those silly animals stay with you <3

  4. I can picture you now, relaxing in your lawn chair while rockets and stars and whatever explode overhead. We used to go to the airbase in Wichita Falls and watch the fireworks. They put on a display for the public every year. Fantastic.

    1. Yep, you pictured right. Sadly, I was a bit disappointed in this year's show. :( Oh well.
